The Fire Warden's prime responsibility is to help evacuate the building and ensure the safety of staff and others when there is a fire. Fire Wardens must ensure that all staff within their area of responsibility are aware of and fully understand:

• The location of fire fighting equipment.
• The emergency exit routes.
• The assembly points.
