During 2008/09 an estimated 627,000 incidents of violence occurred at work and approximately 327,000 workers experienced as least one incident of violence at work (British Crime Survey).
A personal safety training course is one of the most effective ways of reducing the risk of violent and aggressive incidents occurring in the workplace. Issues covered include assessing risk; developing personal safety policies and procedures; lone-working; home visits; travelling; cash handling; frontline working; responding to physical and verbal aggression; de-escalation and defusing techniques.
